CUD Certification Program

FROM BRANCH TO TABLE: CERTIFIED LOCAL WALNUTS

As the Walnut Producers Association (CÜD), we have launched a Certification Program to improve quality in walnut production, enhance export potential, and ensure consumer confidence.

This program enables manufacturers across Türkiye to document their products according to independent analysis and standards.

Who can apply?

Manufacturers applying for certification must:

  • Being a registered walnut producer in Türkiye

  • It must have a garden with at least 200 trees.

  • Being an agricultural enterprise registered with the Ministry of Agriculture

  • It is necessary to record the harvesting, drying, and storage processes.

Three quality classes are offered: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

How does the certification process work?

  1. Fill out the application form.

  2. Submit your sample or request a site inspection.

  3. Physical and chemical analyses are performed.

  4. Scoring and evaluation are carried out.

  5. The certificate and QR code label will be delivered to you.

⏱️ Result time: maximum 7 business days

Label and QR Code System

Each certified product is given a unique QR code label.
This label is placed on the packaging to inform the consumer:

  • Product quality class

  • Summary of laboratory analysis results

  • Year of production and variety

It enables him to see.
📲 The phrase "Scan the QR code for detailed analysis" is found on the packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How long is the certificate valid for?
    ➤ Valid for one harvest season.

  • Do I have the right to appeal?
    ➤ You can appeal the results in writing within 7 days.

  • Do I need to send the sample myself?
    ➤ Yes, depending on the application type, you can submit it yourself or a CÜD auditor can receive it.

  • What is a QR code used for?
    ➤ Consumers or wholesale buyers can access all analytical information by scanning the product QR code.

  • Is there a fee to obtain the certificate?

  • ➤ Yes. A registration fee is charged for all analyses performed after the certification application.
    Once you qualify for certification, QR code labels to be affixed to your products will be provided at a cost per label.

🔸 Pricing includes analysis laboratory services and digital traceability infrastructure.
🔸 Labels are only provided to manufacturers who meet the certification criteria.

  • What information will be displayed when the QR code is scanned after receiving the certificate?

➤ When the QR code is scanned, a special page for the certified product opens. This page contains the following:

📍 Name and location of your garden (by province/district)

🧾 Certificate class (Gold, Silver, Bronze)

📆 Harvest year and walnut variety

🔬 Summary of analysis results (internal ratio, color class, aflatoxin status, etc.)

📞 Your contact information (with optional visibility)

🔗 CUD approval number and validity period

This system allows consumers or buyers to directly see the reliability of your product.
Transparency and traceability are cornerstones of the certification program.
